The OEM’s footprint grew to more than 400 locations, and the investment included relocations and expansions of service facilities, new mobile service trucks and increased hours of operation for service technicians.

As part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring customer uptime, Peterbilt launched the Platinum Service Center Program in February to certify dealers who meet or exceed the truck maker’s expectations for repair and service. The program assesses dealers on a variety of factors, including customer satisfaction and utilization of PACCAR Solutions Service Management.

The program aims to improve service truck dealerships near me efficiency for both customers and dealers through better planning, coordination and control of the service process. It is a partnership between Peterbilt and its dealer partners to increase the uptime of their vehicles and to drive the profitability of their businesses by offering innovative, streamlined service solutions.

In an effort to accelerate the process, Peterbilt is rolling out hundreds of augmented reality tools for service technicians that re-conceptualize 2D technical information into full-scale 3D objects based on CAD models. The AR tools connect to existing service systems like Paccar Solutions Service Management and allow service technicians to quickly access technical documentation and diagrams.

With this improved workflow, technicians are able to complete more repairs in less time and to keep their customers’ fleets moving. This helps reduce downtime, which is essential for maintaining a strong economy.

The augmented reality tools are being deployed to more than 100 dealerships by the end of March 2022. Designed to be mounted on iPad tablets, they connect to Paccar Solutions Service Management and provide instant access to technical documentation and diagrams that can significantly reduce downtime, and the associated costs for maintenance and repairs.

By using this technology, service technicians can quickly identify and solve complex engine problems to keep their customers’ trucks on the road. This also improves the accuracy of their estimates, and it allows them to work more efficiently.

As a result, these dealers are able to deliver more accurate, more timely and higher quality results to their customers than their competitors. This makes it easier for them to stay in business and grow their businesses, and ensures that they are able to maintain an excellent level of customer satisfaction.

Peterbilt has a history of awarding the dealer group of the year to its top performing locations. The dealer group of the year is selected by Peterbilt based on a combination of Standard of Excellence scores, financial performance, parts and service performance and the utilization of Paccar training and programs.
